Tenuta Sant'Antonio Run by the Castagnedi family with the
help of enologist Celestino Gasparini, this young estate
located in the Illasi Valley is already widely recognized
for its quality wines that tend to be big and polished.
The Castagnedi brothers, Armando, Massimo, Paolo, and Tiziano,
are following a 50-year family tradition of winemaking that
has seen and met many challenges and spanned many changes
in production methods and equipment. The brothers planted
their land, and 1995 was their first vintage of Amarone.
Tenuta Sant'Antonio's Valpolicella is created
through the ripasso method. The Cabernet is made with the
same method used for the Amarone, a process known as appassimento;
unlike the Amarone, however, it is not a blend.
