Tenute Soletta Since assuming direction of the family business in 1996, owner
and winemaker Umberto Soletta has endeavored to honor Sardegna’s
distinct contribution to the realm of Italian wine through
Tenute Soletta’s production.
Located in the Sassari province, in the northwest tip
of the region, the Soletta vineyards occupy an area that
varies in altitude from 400 to 500 meters above sea level,
rendering it the beneficiary of desirable weather conditions—a
Mediterranean clime characterizes the zone throughout the
year and winds blow predominantly from the northwest.
The vines are cultivated in accordance with old regional
traditions and organic methods, and are planted mostly
within the cordone speronato, or “rammed cord” system. The
soil composition is primarily clay and sand.
