Wines by Solaria |

|
Solaria The medieval hills of Montalcino have
given way to a new wave of glitz in winemaking. But in the
eastern corner of this region it is the passion and drive
of the true artisanal producer that shines above the glamour
of the neighboring estates. Patrizia Cencioni doesn’t
spend her time behind a desk; instead she sits behind the
wheel of her tractor, tends to her vines by hand, and takes
on the tasks of the cellar. The relatively unknown producer
walked away with the Three Glasses award in 1997 and has
not slowed down. Producing just three wines - the classic
Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino as well as
the IGT wine Solarianne - she prefers to stay away from
the influential lures of marketing hype which provides for
its exceptional price-to-quality ratio.
