Pira Luigi Established in the early 1950s, the estate
of Pira Luigi sold only its harvested grapes and,
later, bulk wine to local négociants. In recent
years, Pira began aging and bottling wines under his namesake
label, introducing his Barolo to the market for the first
time in 1993. The estate worked to improve the quality
of their wine with each vintage, and with the particularly
impressive 1998, they solidified a reputation for delivering
standout wines with richness and complexity. Currently,
Luigi's sons are at the helm of the estate's operations,
with Giampaolo managing the cellar and Romolo maintaining
the vineyards.
