Moroder The Moroder family has owned this estate
since the early 18th century, but only under current owner
Alessandro and his wife, Serenella, has it ranked among
Italy’s true quality producers. The vineyards and
winery are found within the Parco del Conero, a national
park designed to preserve the native flora and fauna of
this area and which carries strict regulations forbidding
the use of pesticides and other unnatural chemicals. The
Conero area knows its own unique climate, where vineyards
are protected from the strong sea winds by the high coastline
and have never seen a severe storm.
In 1984 Alessandro began planting specialized
vines and fixing up his vineyards and cellar, hiring enologist
Franco Bernabei to help him create the magnificent wines
he dreamt of. Dorico is the flagship wine of the estate;
this Rosso Conero comes from the estate’s most select
grapes and is produced only in great vintages. A deep, contemplative
wine.
