Messapicus Messapicus is one of the elite estates
pushing to replace quantity with quality in Puglia’s
wine production. They present excellent examples of traditional
regional wines, including Copertino and the more conspicuous
Salice Salentino, both made from blends in which Negroamaro
dominates. This indigenous grape brings deep color to wines
and introduces a pleasant hint of bitterness. Messapicus’
bottlings are distinctly southern, with the heat and warmth
of the area shining through in every glass.
