Wines by Livio Felluga |

Livio Felluga Friuli is Italy's white grape bastion, producing an extensive varietal range that includes both indigenous and international varieties. Moreover, a contingent of eminent winemakers from the '60s and '70s instituted a new approach to the vinification of white wines, comprised of techniques designed to elicit pure varietal character.
Livio Felluga, a fourth generation winemaker, was a prominent member of this
movement, signified in large part by low-temperature fermentation in stainless
steel. This was countered in the '80s and '90s by winemakers who pursued a more
international style of wine, which privileged the medium of oak. The top bottlings
of both styles, however, are accorded the "Super-White" moniker.
Felluga's Super-White, Terre Alte, is a blend of Sauvignon, Pinot Bianco, and Tocai, and is widely regarded as the standard-bearer of its type. As many Friulian winemakers, Felluga produces an extensive white canon, divided equally between single varietal wines and blends. The estate particularly esteems its bottling of Picolit, a native Friulian varietal used for the production of sweet wines. The indigenous Refosco and the international Merlot headline the red portfolio, comprised of three blends and a pure varietal Refosco.
