Inama Inspiring much passion and dispute among
Soave aficionados and wine writers, Stefano Inama crafts
original wines in both classical and international styles.
Garganega is Stefano’s favorite grape, but he is devoting
increasing attention to international black varieties.
Stefano inherited this Veneto winery from his father.
Planted on volcanic soil, all 30 hectares of vineyards
face south, southeast, and southwest. These vines lie
in the hills of the Classico area, which are actually
the foothills of the Alps. However, the climate is influenced
by the nearby Mediterranean, resulting in the perfect
hodge-podge for grape growing: warm, but less humid than
the coast due to the high altitude. This provides a long
growing season with large fluctuations in diurnal temperatures,
allowing the grapes to ripen slowly to full maturity.
Starting with fully mature grapes, Stefano allows his
wines to macerate on the skins and ages his top cuvees
in oak. The wines glimmer with rich color and sing with
lively aromas and flavors.
