Ercole
Velenosi Located in the Ascoli Piceno province
of the Marche, Ercole Velenosi is a dynamic young estate
producing some of the best wines in the area. The vineyards
are hillside on clay soil with excellent exposure. Grapes
are hand harvested and then pressed using a special press
that manages to be extremely delicate so as not to damage
the taste and color of the must. Their respect for tradition
is apparent in the vineyard management and winemaking techniques.
Our wine-making plant is surrounded by vines which form
a natural screen around it. The vines, growing on a clayey
soil a moderately steep slop, enjoy an excellent exposure.
Tradition teaches us how important it is for the vintage
to take place within in a certain deadline: sometimes, only
a few days can be taken into consideration for a successful
vintage. Temperature-controlled winemaking. The respect
for tradition is also evident in the different periods of
vine—growth and wine-ageing without forcing and radically
chancing the procedures. We know the right time required
by each wine, which therefore leaves the cellar only when
mature.
