Tommaso Bussola
Along with Giuseppe Quintarelli and Dal
Forno Romano, Tomasso Bussola is a leader in the Veneto’s
Valpolicella district and in the production of Amarone.
Although Tomasso purchased his winery and
vineyards only a decade ago, he had already harnessed a
basic understanding of the vineyard from his uncle Giuseppe,
a grape grower. Tommaso charted his own way through the
winery and his wines have excelled from the outset. The
Bussola winery has no doubt been a significant contributor
to the upsurge in demand for Amarone over the last few years,
leaving Tommaso with little stock to spare.
The 'TB' wines rank at the top of the winery’s
line-up and should not be mistaken for the lower label 'BG'
wines that Tomasso also produces. No grape selection can
be too strict, no barrel too perfect – these wines
are the cream of the crop. The ultimate expression of Tommaso’s
skill is the Amarone TB Vigneto Alto, with a glorious fruit
density unlike anything you've ever tasted.
