Accornero The Accornero estate is centered on the
Ca’ Cima winery, which was purchased in 1897 by Bartolomeo
Accornero and his son Giuseppe. Though this was not their
first foray into agriculture – the family had owned
their own land as well as working a plot for the Palazzo
dei Conti di Callori, where the Enoteca Regionale di Vignale
Monferrato now stands – it was the birth of a new
tradition of high quality winemaking. Now, two generations
later, the estate is owned by Giulio Accornero, who oversees
production along with his wife, Mariuccia, and his sons
Ermanno and Massimo. Their 20 hectares of vineyards lie
within the Monferrato zone and provide a home for the indigenous
Barbera, Grignolino, Freisa, Cortese, and Malvasia di Casorzo
as well as the international Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
