An American "School Bus” to Promote the Wines of Sicily

A new concept was recently launched in Sicily to promote the wine and food of the Etna area: a travelling wine bus – the sort used across the US as school buses – will serve as a mobile enoteca and will be made available to local food and wine producers to showcase their products to the public.

This unprecedented project is financed by the local association Gal Terre dell’Etna & dell’Alcantara – representing 26 communes surrounding the Etna volcano area – and was recently launched at the luxurious Palmerston Etna Golf Resort & Spa, near the city of Taormina. The new wine bus will be showcased at upcoming food and wine festivals, as well as tourism fairs, and is the newest tool made available by the Region to promote its territory, culture, and abundant wine and food specialties.
